Granada .. mysterious myths and flamenco !!
There’s nothing better to start this article
with the Spanish say «nothing harder in
life than to be blind in Granada !!?».
The city is situated between the mountain
and the sea, and for sure is one of the
most beautiful places in Spain.
It is the last Muslim kingdom in Spain, with a lot of
myths. It is said that when the last Muslim
king was defeated in 1492, his mother said to
him, «cry like a women, for what you
couldn’t defend it like a man !!? ».
The “Red” Palace ( Alhambra Palace as it called in Europe or AlHammra palace in Arabic) and «Arif heaven»
gardens are the most beautiful places in
Granada, which is located in southern
Spain, and up to nearly two million tourists
visit it each year, and included into the
World Heritage sites thanks to the beauty
and greatness and for sure the rich
history.
The “Red” Palace – which combines as a
palace and a fortress in the same time – is
the highest expression of the Muslims art
in Spain, and the most important things to
remember about Islamic culture in Europe,
beside the famous Mosque of Cordoba.
You have two options if you want to visit
the palace, either to visit it during the
daylight or go at night. In both cases, you
should alert at least three of your five
senses, because the Palace and the
Gardens have a combination of wonderful
smells ,sights and sounds.
Water is the key element in the
architecture and the decor of this place,
you can enjoy the famous lions in the
lobby ,in the Hall of kings or the Hall of
ace.
«Casbah» is the name of the region’s
defense , the oldest part of this
archeological landmark. King Mohamed
the first has has ordered the first construction
of a wall around the castle and three
towers to protect the royal palaces, .and
you can enjoy the wonderful spectacle of
the entire city from the gardens behind the
palace walls.
The Royal Palace, known as the Palaces
of Bani Nasr, is the most part with decoration
in the “Red” palace, with a mysterious myths and
tales inside it.
For example: in the Royal palace administrative rooms design, the
Kings were sitting in front of their
employees in order to listen to their
requests while their employees couldn’t see them, that was
designed by Muslims engineers by the
light flowing into the room and makes the
king place in the shade and that makes people in front of him
incapable of good visibility to his place.
This is just a model shows how the architecture gives a
sense of pleasure, and how it meets the demands of the Kings.
The main rooms are decorated with
Honeycomb (a decoration known within
Spain from the eighth century until the
sixteenth century), moreover, the Muslims
engineers built the palace using plaster
,brick and wood decorated with
drawings accessories with other forms of
cone pine trees and it was very advanced
building technology at this time in Europe
that was used later all over the famous
European cities.
The the black lobby is the most famous
part in the “Red” Palace, has been
dedicated for the royal family and the
women of the palace. The name came
from a fountain supported by 12 lions are
made of marble in the lobby of the
palace. In design, the symbolic form of the
heaven, like an oasis of rock, water flows
inside, with a 124 support columns,
symbolizing palm trees.
However, these shortcomings would not be complete without the most
beautiful gardens in Spain and maybe
Europe, which is the summer residence
«Arif heaven». The best way to visit this
part is to walk in silence and breathe the
perfume of hundreds of different flowers
and listen to the singing birds.
You would love this place, and explore the
history and myths and learn the secrets of
nature in the outdoors. However, the
visitor must know that it takes more than
two hours, on average, at least because
it’s real Hugh.
You must know that only 6300 people per
day are allowed to enter the palace during the
winter, and 7700 people in the summer,
so it is best to book in advance.
There are two seasons:
-The first of November until April, the “Red”
Palace is open in the period from Monday
to Sunday from eight o’clock in the
morning until six in the evening. It is
possible to visit at night on Friday and
Saturday only.
-The summer season of March until
October, and is open until eight in the
evening and the night visits are available
Tuesday and Saturday
(bookings can be made by phone at
telephone No. 902 888 001 from inside
Spain or 003 493 49 237 50 outside
Spain).
However, Granada is not just the
“Red” palace, the area of Sacromonte are one of the areas rich in color, history
and magical things. The only way to visit is
through a maze of narrow streets full of the smell of
scented flowers, and will help to reflect on
the Gardens and aromatic tea with
delicious Arabic candy.
Sacromonte’s caves, which have celebrations every night with wonderful
flamenco songs like the famous Zambra traditional dance, in addition to all the local dances and songs.
Any visitor can enjoy the city’s traditional food, and the best places to test these
meals in bars, Snails cooked with
onions, potatoes, fish, with drinks. The food varied
between the sweet snacks,
lunch and dinner. It is deep-
rooted customs within the region to go to
bars with friends.
Over the centuries,
traditional meals have been mixed between the Christian, Muslim and Jewish dishes to give a chance to taste the city history. Therefore, they use
honey and spices, fruits, meat and fish,
and to provide an example, you can eat lamb with
apples, porridge with honey, chicken with
almonds, and salmon with sea fish. There
are a wide variety of dishes that all of it uses «garlic».
The music is present in any celebration in
Granada whether it was happy or sad.
The famous Federico Garcia Lorca – the most
important figure in Spanish literature – was
born in Granada. Despite the passage of
84 years of his death, can be found on the
legacy of his private flamenco, it always advised to
visit the village of Fuente Vacurus, a
village where he was born, and there you can feel the atmosphere that inspired
that poet. The Museum of Federico
Garcia Lorca is located in Valdrubio near his village
where he grew up with his family.
The tourists can enjoy the real flamenco in the
city of Granada, the regions of
Sacromonte and Albyazen are the best places that you can be enjoy the «Kanti Jondo» – a
range of pure flamenco – and there is
always a small number of locals who want
to enjoy flamenco at night.
you can enjoy zambra inside the caves of
Sacromonte, but it’s better for you is to ask for the best cave before going
there to avoid paying too much for nothing.
One of the most caves which i advise
to visit is next to the banquet hall of the city
«The Tchambra». the International
Center for Gypsy Studies also organize some
concerts to review the heritage of
flamenco. Concerts are held throughout
the year, and for sure the “Red” palace is always in the
background.
Next to that there is a lot of
flamenco artists, such as
Enrico Murrenti and Juan Carmona, in the
pub owned by Jigme L. Baron flamenco
festival held in Albyazen.
so .. when would be your next visit to Granada ?

Brussels .. The royal city !!?

Not like Paris or London or even Berlin; she is Brussels, bringing together so many contradictions that it seems to the visitors it is more than one country and more than one city and more than one culture, which is indeed so, as it seems to be more than one comunity as well.
Brussels, capital of the European Union, is a city floating on an old controversies, and the sensitivities of cultural defrences. It may be the only European capital that use tow diffrent official languages for bilingual signs on the streets, train stations and airports, and even the emblems attached to the dark police uniforms. The reason for this is due to duplication of language in Belgium in general, and Brussels in particular, Flemish and French are the official languages of the Kingdom of Belgium.
Although this factor may increase the cultural richness of the state and the people alike, it is one of the biggest problems faced by Belgium on several levels. Of which is cultural and ethnic and including those related to tourism; as the tourist must rely on his own skills and personal knowledge to walk through Brussels or in other cities, of which speaks French or Flemish, including what they are talking exclusively.
In Brussels, the visitor can speak French, English, Flemish, but in some nearby cities, such as MACHELEN, for example, it can only speak Flemish, which is not that famous language for all vistors, although the city is located less than 15 km from the capital, so that could be considered a suburb of the capital.
Another difference can be felt simply after a short tour in the Belgian cities, which is the differential economic between the Frenkovn and Flemish popualation. It is clear that Flemish cities are the richer, while the French-speaking cities are the poorest in the Kingdom, and the reason that the Flemish people control economic in the Kingdom, and this since several centuries ago.
Away from the multilingualism problem, Brussels is one of the most important European capitals for many reasons, it is the capital of the European Union, where the parliament building and an infinite number of important European centers, which deals with all matters relating to the work of the European Union.
The city is culturally moveing too fast, which began in the early twentieth century, by building the inner city, as each one of these neighborhoods characterized cultural and engineering of its own, such as the Royal Quarter, the city center, Sablon, Marol , the Seine and Mary Jackman, which includes, in addition to the largest park in Brussels, the largest mosque in Brussels as well, which is located in the southeast of the capital, in the north side of the park, overlooking the Avenue of Hartnberg, it is a city of many nationalities, and its streets, speak languages beyond cultural conflict around the Belgian local cultural identity of the country French-speaking and Flemish.
Visiting the city in the winter is confusing due to extreme weather, always cloudy, same as the British capital. 15 minutes from the airport of Brussels International to s Brussels Central station BRUXELLES – MIDI, which is the largest station in the city center, and then, immediately, to the yellow tram, which is the easiest access to the city center.
From the yellow tram window you can explore the buildings that does not go high, most of the buildings of Brussels built between the mid-nineteenth century, and even the fifties of the twentieth century no more than three floors, all of which are built of old concrete interfaces and in similar to most cities in the Nordic pair between the concrete and wood-based panels, which are used to decorate and strengthen interfaces, however, in the center of the city itself, a construction boom began to prefer a modern high-rise buildings at the expense of traditional buildings throughout the streets of the city.
Center of the city is the most neighborhoods in culture rich, as well as neighborhood Sablon, Mary Jackman. But what distinguishes the center of Brussels, is that it contains the majority of tourist attractions and commercial markets Multi-old buildings.
The big square in the center of Brussels GRANDE – PLACE, is the most unique place in Brussels, because of the many archaeological sites it includes on the UNESCO list of World Heritage, where the municipal building, HOTEL DE VILLE DE BRUXELLES and the house of the King “LA MAISON DU ROI”, which was built in the twelfth century on the foundations of a shop was selling bread, so it was called BROODHUIS, which is a Netherlands name to the place that sells bread. The house was renovated in 1873 and since 1887 known as the city’s main museum, and this label because there are many museums in Brussels.
Of the road named DU CHANE, which include several luxury hotels on both sides, the road runs up until the district Sablon, which is located on a hill overlooking the city center and includes many Galleries and art shops, furniture and antiques, as well as goldsmiths shops and specialty stores trade in diamonds. and the famous district of Maroon, where the famous Palace of Justice in Brussels, which was built by King Leopold II in 1866, designed by a group of engineers, and was regarded at the time the biggest building stone in the world, Covering mass of stone of 26 thousand square meters, It also contains the Dome that looks like the Dome of St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican, many rumors were around this building at the time, where the construction cost about 50 million Frank in the nineteenth century; which was equivalent to the budget of the kingdom over the whole year. In spite of all that was said when it was built, the Palace of Justice in Brussels is one of the most important milestones that indicate a culture of extravagance which were used by the kings of Belgium at the time.
Not far from the Palace of Justice, in the face is the Royal Plaza, which around the Royal Palace, where King Albert II -the current king-, the son of King Leopold II and Queen Astrid, whose full name is (Albert Felix Humbert Theodor Christian Eugène Marie de Belgique), he is the sixth king of Belgium from the same family, where it sat on the throne in 1993 after the death of his brother King Baudouin. But, unlike his father who was spending money Without Borders, the king is the most rationing in the disbursement of funds belonging to the state. The palace, which sits on a hill in the center of the capital, does not contain a car park, only vehicles of the family allawed to park there, so when the palace is setting up a concert, or receives the diplomatic corps in the Kingdom, get a license from the municipality to use the pavement opposite the palace attitude for cars. And consistently, the Royal Guard are only two gards in the ordinary days. In the days of events, shows the royal guard of honor, which is composed of 10 individuals, their mission of bringing greetings to the guests of the King property on the door of the palace.
Brussels seems for the visitor like a royal city in very excellent look, but this classic picture of visitors passing change when they walk through city and see who simple are the people and how hard is thier life due to the global economic problems
The Belgian capital filled with luxury hotels, as well as regular hotels. But there are hotels are characterized by their services from others, so as to provide services beyond the idea of sleeping only. Choose from three Belgian heritage related to ancient and modern.

St. Petersburg .. the 7th symphony of beauty !!?
Cities, like human beings. May take away your heart to fall in love at the first sight, St. Petersburg
it is the lady of all cities that capture your heart with her nights, clear sky studded with stars, art, poetry, literature and music. It is a city that burns your heart with her beauty.
It’s Leningrad or Peter .. or Petrograd .. or St. Petersburg.
It does not matter any names closer to your heart and mind, the most important thing is that all of these names are the title of a masterpiece painting or a symphony with an architectural vocabulary presenting the effects of combining tradition and luxury.
Buildings, squares showing her glorious past, Leningrad streets and buildings and water channels – 93 channel- , with her islands -100 island- , with her bridges – 342 bridge- and her elegance allies, has been and still meaning the word life in every sense.
St. Petersburg Nights, Fyodor Dostoyevsky said in his masterpiece «White Nights»: it is «a beautiful .. Beautiful beauty that we only see it when we are young. The clear sky where the stars that one wonders, is it possible under such a sky that people living not angels».
On the banks of the River Niva, north-east of the Baltic Sea, at the eighteenth century Peter I – Czar of Russia - stooped at that place in search of a site for a line of defense in the face of the kings of Sweden and the Vikings, who have attacked the Russian lands. Was a prisoner of desire after he had the first naval victory on the King of Sweden Karl-second drive to him to the Baltic Sea, that he wanted to find in this place. Then Peter I, founder of modern Russia and one of the most important symbols of modern Russia, chose one of the islands scattered in the River Niva delta to be a castle that can stand, and named it with the name of two of the disciples of Jesus Christ «Peter and Pavel», and that was the point at which launched the biggest building era in the history of the modern Russian.
In May 1703, ie with the beginning of the eighteenth century, there have been a city that Peter the Great called it the name «St. Peter», and added a «Burg» – a «city» in German – to complete the name .. «St. Petersburg». Soon it turned gradually to be the new capital of the Russian state.
History is rooted in the beginning of the century they call crazy and wisdom. Thus saith the renowned author Radechiv Alexander, who scored some of the features of this historic era in his book «Journey from Moscow to Petrburg» that made the Cesarean authorities ban the author to Siberia.
St. Petersburg name returned to the city with the first waves of the Democratic wave that moved the city of «Leningrad» in the midst of its conflict with the Kremlin, following a referendum in 1991, that decided that its better to get back to the past in order to change from the Bolshevism and socialist revolution, that was started from this city after consecutive revolutions in February and then in October of 1917.
If the history of the city derives its origins from the beginning of a century that Radechiv described as a mixture between wisdom and madness, what happened next was closer to madness than to wisdom, although some people believes the oppisite. Perhaps what this beautiful city witnessed although it is well-deserved the name of the cultural capital of the Russian state over the history, show how mad was her governors with nonsense number of the actions to change the old name chosen by its founder Peter the Great. With the first years of the First World War Czar of Russia declared a desire to get rid of the «Burg» German in «St. Petersburg» and use the Slavic – Russian word «Grad» instead, both means «city» so he named the city «Petrograd» as a new name for the capital relative to its founder, Peter or Peter the Great, for sure the Bolsheviks wasn’t much better, where they quickly declared the new orders about the city name and changed her name again to the leader of the October Revolution «Lenin» name to commemorate his memory after his death in 1924, just after 10 years of changing the name, but in spite of the differing characteristics of eras and different orientations «rivals», the city kept her elegance.
St. Petersburg was targeted by Hitler’s forces with the first years of World War II, the city had her the long nights to complete NINE HUNDRED Days in resistance has not broken by siege or hunger or frost, the history witnessed the barbaric of fascism actions towards the most beautiful symbols of art and culture in the city at this time.
The darkness of the moment and place of what the city has suffered were not to survive to be a legend without the son of Leningrad Dmitri Shostakovich in the what the world has known under the name «Seventh Symphony».He gave the world the city feelings and pulse in the song «victory», that honed moments of the siege feelings that flowed thin dreamy to record what some like to call «Symphony Leningrad», therefore it was not surprising that these tones dreamy prelude to what noted feather by Alexei Tolstoy: «It would make you through a wonderful masterpiece of ideas and emotions when the world is full of lights that hold you and through you as a storm, to find yourself relaxed quietly on a beach of dreams .. Beach of the future ».
St. Petersburg has been and remains a model of European unity reflected in that unique architectural style of the product of the efforts and minds of the representatives of the French schools with Italian and German. And under the impact of this beautiful, you find yourself running towards one of the most important and most beautiful features of the city ..
