Frankfurt .. The city of all seasons

 

 

 

The name of the city of Frankfurt is a familiar name to tourists, but it must be said that its because a good reputation that has made over many years.
Frankfurt has been able to be special in many fields, starting from the airport, Frankfurt International Airport (Flughafen Frankfurt am Main), which is the largest in Germany, and the second largest airport in Europe in terms of occupancy rate, the stock market which has the famous city name, many international exhibitions that the city host, such as Book Fair and the international auto show, and for sure the various tourist attractions sights in the city. All of this and much more made Frankfurt the well-known name in the world.

 

 
The city has done a lot to maintain it universality, but in addition the tourists and residents had much attention, where they have labels assigned to them to help them as they stroll through the city, providing them cards called «Frankfurt Card» that have many options , from the daily ticket that allows you to use the internal transportation and the associated discounts at many museums, gardens, zoo and Moungartn park.

 

 

Among the most famous modern landmarks in Frankfurt, which gave it a special character, we find skyscrapers, as there is in Frankfurt nearly 100 skyscrapers, which are often private buildings, banks or offices, rising up to 258 meters, the highest building is (Commerzbank), which means Commercial Bank, which reaches up to 300 meters with the antenna.

If you wish to take a closer look at one of the towers you should go to the Main Tower that has a height of 200 meters, which is open for public to look at the Frankfurt from above.
High skyscrapers isn’t the only thing that can you watch in these buildings, but also the creativity embodied in many buildings such as the Japanese Red center and the Tower Vistheven which resembles a cup.

 

 

If you do not want to be in a high places -like me- you can visit the «Museum bank» (Museumsufer) which is a place worth to visit and to enjoy what its offer, it will take you on a tour of the banks of the River Main to look at 13 museums on it, either in the renovated old villas or buildings in a modern architectural including the Film Museum, the Museum of Architecture, the Museum of Applied Arts, and for sure the Museum of Modern Art which located near of the cathedral, known as «a piece of cake» because of its triangle shape.

Some of the impressive places to visit is  «Romrberg» yard, which is one of the squares that has a particular charm that it is hard to describe, surrounded by a lot of buildings built on the old traditional style, which shows authenticity and originality of the city, the names of these buildings are real unique such as «Great Angel», «Golden Algrevi» and «Black Star».

 

 

If you want to visit more sights you must stopovers in the cathedral high-rise towers (Dom) in the downtown, which reaches a height of 95 m above the ground, which is one of the most beautiful monuments in the city of Frankfurt.

Certainly, the Old Opera House (Alte Oper) would be the best place that i recommend, especially when you know that its name means the «most beautiful ruins of Germany», its foundations have been destroyed, during World War II, but the citizens of Frankfurt managed their efforts and contributions to bring it back to normal.

You can go to the beauty of nature and specifically to the banks of the River Main, where its always filled with people, especially when the weather is good. Lovely River Main entice picnickers and make them spend long hours in roaming on foot, as it is a distinctive place attracts skiers, cyclists and amateur sports surfboards.

But on Saturdays, when the merchants put their used goods in their market stalls on the banks of the river, the demand for space increased significantly, so long ago, and the words «Back to the river» is the logo of the city of Main.

Despite the attractive charm of this river, Frankfurt  always offers you a lot of options, perhaps you could go to the park «Enteza» characterized by palm forests and banana trees, pine, cypress, oak and other plants from the south.

 

 

You may wish to buy some gifts and widgets, or even just want to look at the local market, then you have a wide range of markets to choose from where you want to shopping in it. You will surely find much that want to get from Zeil street, which is a destination for shopping in Frankfurt and the most active shopping street in Europe, this street is full of famous shopping centers, many of the specialized shops and various species and varieties of goods.

In downtown Frankfurt, near to (Hauptwache) square you can visit «Zeil Gallery» and «Frankfurt Hoch Fair» Shop, where they are the most exciting landmarks in the city, at the top of a building «Zeil Gallery», the visitor can enjoy the enchanting scene overlooking the high-rise buildings and see the whole city even to forest Altaonos.

 

 

After a long tour in the markets of Frankfurt you can go to the world most delicious meals and dishes, where you can have many options, you can deal with traditional dishes such as the famous «cheesecake music» and «green soup», or you can choose any of the international dishes you dream to eat and certainly you’ll find it available in Frankfurt.
Bockenheimer the Great street is a well known as a food area in the city, which lies between the opera square  and the Stock Exchange street, the parents called him the name (Fressgass), due to the fact that this region of Frankfurt is the home of delicious dishes, top chefs present meals and local and international dishes.
Of course you have the option if you want to go to a coffee shop located on the side of the street, where visitors can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and activity.

 

 

Frankfurt is also a city of rich social activities and important events in all forms and types, such as exhibitions, local and international carnivals,its to be considered as one of the oldest avenues in the world, with more than 50 exhibitions annually attracts 40 thousand exhibitors and more than 1.5 million visitors.

Exhibition of the book which bears the name of this city (Frankfurter Buchmesse), (Ambiente) exhibition which is the largest consumer exhibition in the world, (Achema) international exhibition and conference on chemical engineering, biotechnology and environmental protection, in addition to the International Motor Show and other exhibitions.

Definitely the book fair is the most famous fairs in Frankfurt and the world, which held in October each year, calling all books lovers, working in the field of publishing, writers and film producers to readers and students. This is the most important exhibition of its kind in the area of sales of books, media and copyright and licensing, as the exhibition includes more than 7300 annual shareholder offers from 100 countries, in addition to 299 thousand visitors and more than 10 thousands of a journalist.

It is simply capable more than anywhere else to provide you with everything that useful and new in all the fields included.

 

 

 

The auto show is also has a great importance in the field of automotive industry, management and organization of exhibitions, held in Frankfurt in September each year. This exhibition is an ideal place for those who wish to attend the latest and best models of cars in the world, such as: «Pintli» and «Rolls Ruiz» and «Aston Martin» and «Lamborghini» and «Mercedes» and «Maserati» and many others.
